MACRAO Articulation Agreement

MACRAO is an agreement between many two-year and four-year colleges and universities that belong to the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Officers (MACRAO).

This agreement ensures that students who complete a specified distribution of general education courses at a community college will have satisfied general education requirements at any four-year college that signed the MACRAO agreement.

All students transferring from a Michigan community college accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools who present coursework equivalent to the basic general education requirements of the MACRAO Articulation Agreement are not required to complete any additional courses in the CMU University Program.

Transfer Block Option

A transfer student who is unable to present the required 30 semester hours distributed as outlined in the MACRAO agreement may meet the CMU University Program requirements using the Transfer Block Option. This requires that each transfer student present, upon graduation, 27 to 30 hours of coursework distributed among humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and integrative and area studies.
